Mobile Application

As lovers of art history and the whole community that surrounds museums and galleries, we knew we wanted to complete a project that combines our love for visual art and our newfound skills in interactive design. We would like to create an interactive display, something that would be able to be integrated into existing gallery/ museum applications and/ or function separately as a personal encyclopedia of visuals and curated salons. This isn’t simply a gallery; it’s a completely different experience. Something that we believe would cater to and delight a niche population.
As design culture/ history of art is very much visual learning and interactive based, having a visual you can interact with and learn from would spark those learning; along with others that have a general interest, to learn in a more lifelike way, as in galleries and museums. Also, when it comes to existing art gallery and museum apps, they are not utilized to their full potential.
As of now, with apps for such museums like the AGO and the Louvre, the apps are almost identical to their mobile website and don’t pose enough usefulness to keep downloaded.
We propose an interactive display eventually available on mobile devices, specifically tablets, as we believe for full experience of the visuals you need a larger display. Initially this will be built on the web. This interactive display would be a visual filter of the eras/ movements of art and the events and culture that surrounded it. Through this you would be able to explore the exhibit’s paintings in whole new way.Through this we would like to be able to be allow the user’s to become their own curators and create their own salons, their own mood boards of inspiration.
